The attractions of becoming a participant in the Bauhaus in this year are obvious. Not only I would be part of a famous educational institution, but also I am interested in studying cultural theory, and developing a deeper theoretical awareness of the logic of advertising – especially branding. That is just the particular program that is being offered this year.

Well I have a strong interest in doing my postgraduate studies in the field of urban planning and the reservation of the identity in old traditional cites in my country; therefore I've decided to join the Bata Urbanism program in the Bauhaus to have a closer over view of the urbanism strategies and systems that have been applied on cites from different cultures long time ago. The 10 months program will enlarge my vision on this field and will diverse my abilities to implement those strategies and techniques in my home country: Bahrain.

Country: India Profession: Architect
Educated as an architect in India and trained in the middle east, I always wanted to explore and address the larger urban issues to be able to have a better understanding of architecture and urban fabrics. What better place than Bauhaus to realise my dream. An epitome of modernism, centre of a great movement. I look forward to learn the multi-faceted aspects of urbanism and the interdisciplinary nature and composition of the programme gives me a perfect platform for the same. So, when I go back from Bauhaus, I am sure to have learnt heavily from the school and also my batchmates, coming from different fields and background.

After working in some art/architecture galleries and writing for some magazines in China, I want to come to Europe to get more knowledge of these fields. It is such a privilege to be able to study in the Bauhaus which influenced so many aspects of our modern life, and I'm very happy to join this year's research which looks at urban footprint from the global companies' point of view. I'm sure that this program will give me a deeper insight into this world, especially by working with so many wonderful classmates from almost all around the globe : )

After about five years of practice as an architect; I felt the need to expand my horizons and learn something new. Bauhaus Kolleg has been probably the best thing that happened to me during that phase. The interesting aspect of being introduced to an urban understanding of space is very intriguing. I am here to meet people from various backgrounds, cultures and countries and learn about the world. I want to take back to my country all these stories and look forward to a wider spectrum of design.

The Bauhaus Kolleg gives me a great opportunity to deepen my reflections on urban planning and contemporary architectural trends. I appreciate to experience the interrelation of social, cultural and technical conditions and their design related to politics and economic systems, not only with our topic but also with the cultural exchange in our international group.

THINK outside the box. CREATE for humanity, claim no ownership. BE always better in my next work. So that maybe, hopefully one day, I can BECOME embedded in the spirit of architecture and offer my knowledge to the world.
